10 April 2016 - Last step with overhaul of LSWR Gunpowder Van is the signwriting being undertaken by Kit.

We have a number of cast iron (and enamel) signs. A recent, generously donated, sign is this one originally situated at Milborne Port. These lasted a long time and as the Southern Railway/Region and later Western Region took over, the painting of L&SWR letters changed to highlight SR or WR. The Western Region had not got round to repainting this sign evidently!

These Southern Railway iron letters have just been 'done up' again. An ongoing labour of love!

The 10 yearly overhaul of Peckett 'Pectin' is proceeding steadily. The chassis is being prepared for painting whilst the wheels have been cleaned of oil/grease, primed and top coated (twice).

10 April 2016 - Pectin's springs will look like new when complete.

Now that the chassis has been cleaned thoroughly, James has the unenviable task of vacuuming and dusting everywhere!
