27 August 2005. Once again 50050 is a working engine.

After several years of disuse, the engine has been successfully re-started.

A air pocket in the fuel system prevented a re-start on previous occasions but once the air had been bled, the engine started almost immediately. After a short period of running the exhaust began to clear. The work continues..........
