29 February 2008 The Wilderness siding is undergoing a significant extension in connection with the storage of main line stock.

Preparations include the delivery of sleepers. Nice view of JC, Keith!

| Delivery of ballast. | |

The opportunity is taken of a re-shuffle of vehicles in the engine shed.

Ron Weston's Fowler takes charge of clearing the siding of stored stock.

The Fowler looks tiny against its coaches.

Phil looks out whilst the Fowler proves to be a supreme master of its load (3 coaches, brake van and GWR chassis).

The coaches are reversed onto other stored coaches. Work on the siding can now commence!

The ground has been levelled....

....and a layer of ballast laid ready for Sunday.

Following hard work during the week and on Sunday the new siding has made considerable progress.

More work to do though!

A couple of pictures from Sunday 16 March 2008.

As work has progressed rapidly (even through wind and rain) further rails may be installed before Easter.

19 March 2008. The siding has been extended far enough to take 7 coaches....

....and this is as far as it goes (for the time being!).
