Our site is part of Yeovil Junction station which is served by South West Trains on the route London Waterloo-Salisbury-Yeovil Junction-Exeter. By road simply follow the signs to Yeovil Junction station, BA22 9UU from Yeovil Town centre or from A37 Dorchester-Yeovil road. Buses leave Yeovil Bus Station half hourly (Monday to Saturday but not Public Holidays) from 0632 until 1932 (South West Coaches 68). A special Sunday and Public Holiday service also operates (Withdrawn with effect 17/04/2011). The entrance to Yeovil Railway Centre is through the low bridge, half way up the Yeovil Junction station approach road.

Please do NOT cross any railway line to reach Yeovil Railway Centre but follow the directions above. Thank you for your co-operation.

Shop Open every Sunday 10am to noon and as detailed below during Events
(but closed over Christmas & New Year). Restricted to two customers in shop at any one time for the time being. Card Payments preferred!

Pectin's Pantry (our Cafe) is open during Events. Cafe not open on other Sundays due to staffing shortage.

Driver Experience
We offer good value Driver Experience events for individuals (up to 3 hours approx and great Gift idea!) or are suitable for Groups of up to 8 people (Full Day). Please get in touch if you are interested either in organising a group for a full day or perhaps preparing and driving the engine prior to one of our Train Days. 2021Our full events programme for 2021 has now been published.
Shop each Sunday from 10am to noon (and longer during events), except at Christmas/New Year. We encourage the wearing of masks in the Shop and the use of the available Hand Sanitiser.
Cafe open during planned events (but closed on other Sundays due to staffing shortage)..
The programme for the remainder of 2021 is now published as restrictions have been being lifted.

'Lord Fisher'

Steam Train Day using Andrew Barclay 0-4-0 steam engine 'Lord Fisher' to give train rides along the 1/3rd mile of the ex-Great Western Railway Clifton Maybank branch. Passengers travel in our coach which is accessible via ramp for standard size Wheelchair and other users will be in use.
Pre-booking will not be necessary for this event. Please pay at the gate.

Trains at 10.40am, 11.00am, 11.20am, 11.40am 12.20pm, 12.40pm 1.50pm, 2.10pm, 2.45pm, 3.10pm and 3.30pm. Turntable demonstrations at 12noon and 2.30pm.

(Gate open at 10.00am and train rides start at 10.40am. Last admission 3.10pm).


By popular demand 'Marshall' from Paw Patrol makes a repeat visit. Other planned attractions include a Shop, Light Refreshments, Model Railway, Miniature Railway and exhibits and displays (including the Chard Signalling Panel).



Admission (including Steam Train ride £9.00 adult for those UK taxpayers eligible and willing to add a voluntary donation to enable us to claim valuable Gift Aid (your admission is then worth £11.25), otherwise £8 adult, Children £4.50 (Gift Aid) otherwise £4.00 (aged (5-15)) whilst children under 5 and members are admitted free. More details will be given on arrival.

One Child (aged (5-15)) is admitted FREE with a full paying adult (see below).


Regular Train Days are held March to October.

Free parking on site (subject to availability) – go to Yeovil Junction station, BA22 9UU and turn right under the low bridge half way up the station approach road – look out for large ‘Yeovil Railway Centre’ sign and arrow!

Driver Experience events prior to our Steam Train Days are available by pre-booking (regrettably not available until social distancing is ended). See HERE for full details. Special arrangements can be made for groups of 4 to 8.

Event runs from 5.30pm to 9pm. Admission prices £6 all ages (pre-book - available nearer the date) or £7 on the night.
Come dressed up in your scarey outfits! Prize for scariest costume! Free Horror Bag for children! Ghostly steam train rides from the haunted house included......Halloween themed food on sale!!
