16 August | Tuesday | ![]() 'Diesel' ![]() Model Railway ![]() Miniature Railway | Diesel Train Day using one of our Diesels to give train rides along the 1/3rd mile of the ex-Great Western Railway Clifton Maybank branch. Passengers travel in an historic brakevan. Check when our coach which is accessible via ramp for standard size Wheelchair and other users will be in use. Other attractions include:- - Miniature Railway - Model Railway - Cafe and display of artefacts - Shop Gates open at 10.30am and first train at 11am and regularly (except for a lunch break) with final at 2.40pm. Adult £5, Child 0-4 free, Child 5-15 £2 (one admitted free per paying adult). Admission price includes (subject to availability) Car Parking, Train rides, Model Railway and Miniature Railway rides. | |
21 August | Sunday | ![]() 'Pectin' ![]() Model Railway ![]() Miniature Railway ![]() Chard Signalling Panel | Steam Train Day using Peckett 0-4-0 'Pectin' to give train rides along the 1/3rd mile of the ex-Great Western Railway Clifton Maybank branch. Passengers travel in our coach which is accessible via ramp for standard size Wheelchair and other users will be in use. Pre-booking will not be necessary for this event and please pay at the gate. Trains at 11.00am, 11.20am, 11.40am 12.00 noon, 12.20pm then 1.50pm, 2.10pm, 2.45pm, 3.10pm and 3.30pm. Turntable demonstrations at 12.40pm and 2.30pm. (Gate open at 10.30am and train rides start at 11.00am. Last admission 3.15pm). Other planned attractions include a Shop, Light Refreshments, Model Railway, Miniature Railway and exhibits and displays (including the Chard Signalling Panel). Admission (including Steam Train ride £10.00 adult for those UK taxpayers eligible and willing to add a voluntary donation to enable us to claim valuable Gift Aid (your admission is then worth £12.50), otherwise £9 adult, Children £4.50 (Gift Aid) otherwise £4.00 (aged (5-15)) whilst children under 5 and members are admitted free. More details will be given on arrival. One Child (aged (5-15)) is admitted FREE with a full paying adult (see below). Regular Train Days are held March to September. Free parking on site (subject to availability) – go to Yeovil Junction station, BA22 9UU and turn right under the low bridge half way up the station approach road – look out for large ‘Yeovil Railway Centre’ sign and arrow!
