Our site is part of Yeovil Junction station which is served by South West Trains on the route London Waterloo-Salisbury-Yeovil Junction-Exeter. By road simply follow the signs to Yeovil Junction station, BA22 9UU from Yeovil Town centre or from A37 Dorchester-Yeovil road. Buses leave Yeovil Bus Station half hourly (Monday to Saturday but not Public Holidays) from 0632 until 1932 (South West Coaches 68). A special Sunday and Public Holiday service also operates (Withdrawn with effect 17/04/2011). The entrance to Yeovil Railway Centre is through the low bridge, half way up the Yeovil Junction station approach road.

Please do NOT cross any railway line to reach Yeovil Railway Centre but follow the directions above. Thank you for your co-operation.

EverySundayOur Shop is open every Sunday from 10am to noon (except Christmas and New Year) for sale of new and second-hand Railway and other transport related books, videos and other items (including Thomas the Tank Engine).
The Shop now has a range of Model Railway items for sale and can obtain many others for collection.
The Shop is also open during visits by main line steam and Train Days. Up to date information on events is given without charge.....

Driver Experience
We offer good value Driver Experience events for individuals (up to 3 hours approx and great Gift idea!) or are suitable for Groups of up to 8 people (Full Day). Please get in touch if you are interested either in organising a group for a full day or perhaps preparing and driving the engine prior to one of our Train Days. Steam Train Day - Back to School Special using Andrew Barclay 0-4-0 steam engine 'Lord Fisher' to give train rides along the 1/3rd mile of the ex-Great Western Railway Clifton Maybank branch. Passengers travel in historic brake van vehicles on this day. Trains run every 20 minutes (except for a lunch break) and
visitors can enjoy unlimited trips on the day as well as on the Miniature Railway.

Other attractions include a Shop, Light Refreshments, Model Railway and exhibits and displays (including demonstrations of the turntable).

Admission (including Steam Train and Miniature Railway rides £7 adult, Children £3.50 (aged 5-15) whilst children under 5 and members are admitted free.
One Child (aged 5-15) is admitted FREE with a full paying adult. (Gate open at 10.30am and train rides start at 11am. Close at 4pm).

Regular Train Days are held March to October

Free parking on Main Station car park (no need to pay at meter, your parking cost is included in admission – go to Yeovil Junction station, BA22 9UU. Once parked in designated area please walk down the hill and turn left under the low bridge. Blue Badge holders may park on site and should turn right on final approach to station - ‘Yeovil Railway Centre’ sign and arrow!

Planned attractions (subject to availability) can be viewed by clicking HERE Please NOTE that although most attractions are entirely free some will be charging and this money is retained by them. A handling fee for the Owls (Saturday only) applies.

Diesel Train Rides followed by Fish and Chips (or alternative) and then a Slide Show by well known railway author Brian Jackson. He will be giving a presentation titled 'Dorset Transport goes to War 1914-1918'. Open at 6.30pm but pre-booking a MUST for the food! Open to Members and General Public. A very enjoyable and relaxed evening with good company.

SaturdaySteam Driver/Train Crew Experience Day for 2015
Our new for 2015 shared day for individuals (or a group) to try their hand at the various roles involved in operating a train. This will include Driving, Firing, Guarding, Shunting, Cleaning, Preparation use of Turntable. To undertake this you must be 18 years of age or older and of a reasonable fitness as climbing onto engines etc will be involved. You will receive safety briefs, a breakfast and lunch and work with our crew.
Participants will be a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8. Cost is £98 (inc VAT) per person although a discount of £10 per person will be given for 4 or more people booking at the same time.
If you prefer an individual can also particpate in a solo Driver Experience event before we open to the public on one our Steam Train Days.

Annual General Meeting beginning at 7.30pm at Quicksilver Mail, Hendford Hill, Yeovil BA20 2RG. After the formalities and a short break there will be a Slide Show and Talk by the well-known railway photographer Les Nixon. AGM open to Members only. General Public welcome to attend the presentation by Les Nixon after the AGM from 8.30pm approximately. A donation towards our costs would be appreciated.

Event runs from 5.30pm to 10pm. (Train operates until 9pm)

Admission (inc Members) prices are £5 pre-booked and paid min 24 hours in advance. or £6 on the evening subject to still being availability as numbers will be limited. (one Under 5 will be admitted FREE with a paying adult). A £1 fee per booking will be added to help cover the PayPal charge.

If you do not wish to pay via PayPal please complete and send the Booking Form and indicate in the Additional Comments section how you wish to make payment. We will then advise alternative methods.
