Our site is part of Yeovil Junction station which is served by South West Trains on the route London Waterloo-Salisbury-Yeovil Junction-Exeter. By road simply follow the signs to Yeovil Junction station, BA22 9UU from Yeovil Town centre or from A37 Dorchester-Yeovil road. Buses leave Yeovil Bus Station half hourly (Monday to Saturday but not Public Holidays) from 0632 until 1932 (South West Coaches 68). A special Sunday and Public Holiday service also operates (Withdrawn with effect 17/04/2011). The entrance to Yeovil Railway Centre is through the low bridge, half way up the Yeovil Junction station approach road.

Please do NOT cross any railway line to reach Yeovil Railway Centre but follow the directions above. Thank you for your co-operation.

The Shop now has a range of Model Railway items for sale and can obtain many others for collection.
The Shop is also open during visits by main line steam and Train Days. Up to date information on events is given without charge.....

Driver Experience
We offer good value Driver Experience events for individuals (up to 3 hours approx and great Gift idea!) or are suitable for Groups of up to 8 people (Full Day). Please get in touch if you are interested either in organising a group for a full day or perhaps preparing and driving the engine prior to one of our Train Days. # Our operational steam locomotive 'Lord Fisher' is still undergoing some extra maintenance. This means that our Train Days will be Diesel powered for the time being. The return to service for 'Lord Fisher' is now expected in May. Any changes to this will be posted here. We are sorry for any disappointment and we have amended our Admission prices until steam is once again available.

If you can pay more, then we can recover Gift Aid (tax paid) on the total amount paid.
So, for instance, if you pay £8, we recover £2, making £10 in total. This will help significantly in covering some of the costs of getting our steam engines back into service. More details will be given on arrival.

Fish and Chip Evening open to all. Pre-booking, payment and ordering will be required. To be held at Yeovil Railway Centre, Yeovil Junction BA22 9UU.

Following on from last year’s successful evening, the Events Committee have arranged 2017’s evening for Wednesday 13 September and pre-bookings (and payment) will be required to arrange the food! More details nearer the date.

Before food is delivered around 7.30pm, diesel rides will be operating (from 6.30pm) and after we have partaken, there will be a slide or film show.

Diesel Gala Day using our three diesel locomotives to give train rides along the 1/3rd mile of the ex-Great Western Railway Clifton Maybank branch. Passengers travel in historic brake van vehicles.

Trains run every 20 minutes (except for a lunch break) and visitors can enjoy unlimited trips on the day as well as on the Miniature Railway.

Other planned attractions include a Shop, Light Refreshments, Model Railway and exhibits and displays (including demonstrations of the turntable).

Admission (including Steam Train and Miniature Railway rides £8.00 adult for those UK taxpayers eligible and willing to add a voluntary donation to enable us to claim valuable Gift Aid (your admission is then worth £10), otherwise £7 adult, Children £4.00 (Gift Aid) otherwise £3.50 (aged 5-15) whilst children under 5 and members are admitted free. More details will be given on arrival.
One Child (aged 5-15) is admitted FREE with a full paying adult. (Gate open at 10.30am and train rides start at 11am. Last admission 3.30pm. Close at 4pm).

Regular Train Days are held March to October.


Free parking on site (subject to availability) – go to Yeovil Junction station, BA22 9UU and turn right under the low bridge half way up the station approach road – look out for large ‘Yeovil Railway Centre’ sign and arrow!

Steam Train Day using Andrew Barclay 0-4-0 steam engine 'Lord Fisher' to give train rides along the 1/3rd mile of the ex-Great Western Railway Clifton Maybank branch. Passengers travel in historic brake van vehicle. Please check when Accessible Coach is planned to be in use.

Halloween Evening
(Check back for more Halloween fun! Event runs from 5.30pm to 10pm. (Train operates until 9pm)

Admission prices, including members, are £5 pre-booked and paid min 24 hours in advance. or £6 on the evening subject to still being availability as numbers will be limited. (one Under 5 will be admitted FREE with a paying adult). A £1 fee per booking will be added to help cover the PayPal charge.

Come dressed up in your scarey outfits! Prize for scariest costume! Free Horror Bag for children! Ghostly steam train rides from the haunted house into the night included......Halloween themed food on sale!!

This is an automated booking service and you can either print your tickets or save the booking on a mobile to show us at the gate on the evening. You can also pay at the Shop - open every Sunday 10am to noon or longer when other events are running.

We will then advise alternative methods. Note that Card Payments and PayPal will attract a £1 additional charge to help cover Bank charges.
